The Cole Mill Road Church of Christ has made a significant
commitment to Foreign Mission efforts throughout the world.
We currently support mission works in four continents.
These efforts are coordinated and supported by
the Missions Planning Group.
This group, comprised of all mission ministry leaders and other
interested members, seeks to find ways to further our contact with
and support of all our missionaries.
In 2001, Cole Mill Road member Samson Walker finished his ministry
training in Florida and helped plant the Perry Street Church of Christ
in Monrovia, Liberia. His wife Doris was able to join him there for a period
in late 2002. During the height of the civil war Samson and Doris were
forced to return to the US. Recently Samson was able to return to Liberia
and resume the work there.
Since Samson's arrival, there have been 32 baptisms.
Since March 1997, our members have been serving with a sister
congregation in El Pedregal, Honduras to assist the needy of
that country in a number of ways:
-
leadership training for future elders and deacons;
-
efforts to establish and construct a full-time,
church-sponsored school with programs at all levels,
including those emphasizing Bible study, English instruction,
and computer skills;
-
clothing ministry, preparing children's clothes
(shirts and dresses) throughout the year at Cole Mill Road,
and delivering them periodically to the El Pedregal congregation
for distribution; and
-
medical and dental mission trips ("brigades"),
to deliver medical and dental care both in the capitol city
of Tegucigalpa as well as in a number of rural areas, and to
keep the full-time, church sponsored clinic in El Pedgregal
supplied with medicines and equipment.
Dimitry ("Dima") Kolomeits works in many areas of ministry with
the Central Church of Christ in Odessa, Ukraine. As part of his
ministry, he has used Paul Watson's Understanding the Old Testament
video series.
We are the sole financial supporters of the ministry of Misha Boldyrev
and the Tairova congregation in Odessa, Ukraine. Having supported
Cissana Mukhametshima for a number of years in her work in Ukraine,
at Cissana's request we have transferred her support to Dima Kolomeits
and the Central church in Odessa. Our elders are currently considering
a request from Dima to assume the oversight of his work as well.
Jane Pata is a longtime missionary in Buenos Aires,
Argentina; Jane comes from Corpus
Christi, Texas. Among the many ministries of the Patas is a
weekly radio program in Buenos Aires. The Cole Mill Road
congregation has contributed to their ministry in Buenos Aires
for a number of years.
